Retreats with Ira
Rishikesh
Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India
Where the Ganga meets the breath.
There is a reason yoga calls Rishikesh home. Here, at the foothills of the Himalayas, the Ganga arrives clear and cold from the mountains, and the air itself seems to hum with practice that is thousands of years old. To roll out a mat on these banks is to step into the very lineage you have been studying. With Ira, you return to the source, classical Hatha and pranayama held exactly where they were meant to be held.
Days move with the river. Mornings open with sun salutations as light spills over the hills, afternoons soften into meditation and sound healing, and evenings draw you to the ghats for the Ganga aarti, where lamps float on the water and the whole town seems to exhale. Between practices there is satvik food, quiet, and the company of fellow seekers. You leave not with souvenirs, but with stillness you can carry.
To practise in Rishikesh is to remember that you did not invent your peace, you only came home to it.

From our travellers
Words from Rishikesh.
Practising at the source changed something in me. Ira teaches with such depth, and the river does the rest. I came back lighter than I have felt in years.
The aarti on the first evening brought me to tears. Every morning by the Ganga felt like a quiet conversation with myself. I did not want it to end.
