Retreats with Ira
Ladakh
Leh, Ladakh, India
Where the air thins and the mind grows still.
High in the trans-Himalaya, Ladakh is a land stripped to its essentials. Bare ochre mountains, an immense blue sky, and a silence so complete it seems to have its own sound. Here, at over three thousand metres, the breath becomes precious and every inhalation is felt. This is where Ira brings you to practise, not to escape life, but to meet it more honestly.
Days unfold gently to let the body acclimatise. Mornings open with pranayama as the light spills over the Stok range, afternoons rest in the quiet of ancient gompas at Thiksey and Hemis, and evenings settle into meditation and sound healing under a sky thick with stars. Between practices there is satvik food, warm conversation, and the rare gift of having very little to do. You arrive carrying the noise of the world. You leave with the stillness of the mountains.
In thin air, the breath stops being a habit and becomes a prayer.

From our travellers
Words from Ladakh.
Ira's presence is incredibly calming, weaving profound spiritual insights with practical technique. Practising in that thin mountain air changed something in me I am still finding words for.
I have never known silence like the silence of Ladakh. Each morning of breathwork and each evening of sound left me lighter. I came down from the mountains a quieter, kinder version of myself.
